Mushroom season in Oaxaca strikes every summer, typically starting in June and ending by late August. I had the pleasure of joining Coyote Aventuras for their July retreat, right smack dab in the middle of mushroom moment. Besides consuming psychedelic mushrooms, we hiked through the lush and rain-soaked forests, moved our bodies with yoga, sweat it out in the temazcal on site at the lovely Refugio Terraza de la Tierra, and admired the nightly sunset over the mountain landscape.

You can read about my personal experience on the Coyote Aventuras blog, both the experience of taking mushrooms for the first time in my life as well as the host of other relaxing and re-invigorating activities that surrounded the life-changing psychedelic trip.
